Junior Writers Guild
The
Internet is an avenue that we are using to allow those who cannot attend the
Guild at specific times to participate in the work of the Junior Writers Guild.
It will also be used as a site of literary information that would be of
interest to young writers.
The
Arna Bontemps Junior Writers Guild will publish participants work during the
month of May for the 2002-2003 school year.
Priority will be given to those participants who are in attendance at JWG,
but consideration will also be given to those who submit their works via
internet.
The
Guild is limited to 20 participants. As
of now the Guild has a few openings for grades 6 – 12.
Meeting times are displayed and assignments for the previous meeting are
given with deadlines below:
The
Writers Guild met on Saturday, April 12, 2003 for the tenth session.
The
objectives of session ten were:
1) To guide young writers to write for entertainment by bringing insight, surprise,
or delight to the reader.
2) To guide
young writers into writing autobiographies.
3) To guide
young writers into selecting their work for publication.
This assignment is due in the museum
by Thursday, April 24, 2003. If
you have not attended any of our 10 sessions and you wish to
participant, you will need a registration form to accompany your assignment
entry. You may e-mail your entry to

An account of a person's life written by that person is called an autobiography. Autobiography frequently appears as a full-length book but may also take the form of an essay or autobiographical sketch.
